Can You Make with Other Parts of Chicken?

Yes, this recipe will work well with chicken drumsticks or wings too.

Can You Cook the Chicken In an Air Fryer?

In short, yes, you can do it. Though I much prefer cook in a stove top in oil because it tastes better and feels less dried. Depending on the chicken you are using, the coking time may vary. Keep an eye out to prevent the skin from burning.

Description

Seared chicken thighs are coated in a flavorful soy and garlic glaze.

Ingredients
  • 1.5 pound chicken thigh (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1.5 tablespoon honey
  • spring onion (for garnish)
  • oil (for cooking)
Instructions
  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium high heat.

  3. Place cornstarch in a plate. Coat both sides of each piece of chicken in cornstarch, shaking off the excess.

  4. Add the chicken skin side down and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels and set aside.

  5. Using the same pan over low heat, melt butter. Add garlic and saute until fragrant. Add soy sauce, sesame oil and honey then stirring continuously until it thickens slightly to a glaze-like consistency. Return the chicken back to the pan and spoon the glaze over the top. Remove from the heat and garnish with green onions.

  6. Slice and serve over cooked rice.

Note
  • Crispy chicken skin: don’t be tempted to cover the chicken as it rests otherwise the skin might not stay crispy.
  • Serving suggestion: you can swap the rice for any noodles of your choice, if you prefer.
