Ingredients You'll Need

Cauliflower - Always use fresh cauliflower for this recipe, never frozen in order to make sure they come out crispy. And try to buy a whole head of cauliflower instead of the precut and prepackaged florets. The fresher, the better.

All Purpose Flour - It helps in forming the batter which gives the cauliflower its crispy coating.

Salt & Pepper - You can use any kind of salt you prefer. It gives taste to the dish.

Garlic Powder & Paprika - Adds flavor to the batter.

Eggs - Serve as binder, meaning that they help batter stick to food and coat if for deep frying. They also serve to leaven the batter, which making it more light and crispy.

Water - It makes wet batter to create a more liquid consistency.

Ingredients
  • 1 cauliflower (large)
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • For the Homemade Sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (add 2tbsp. milk if it's too thick)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon parmesan cheese
Instructions
    Prepare the Cauliflower
  1. Cut the cauliflower florets off the head of cauliflower and into medium size florets removing the large stem in the center of the head.

    In a pot with boiling water season with salt, add the florets and cook for 3 minutes. Strain and transfer into a bowl until cool completely.

  2. Make the Homemade Dipping Sauce
  3. In a small bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, salt, white pepper, minced garlic, lemon, parsley and Parmesan cheese. Mix until fully combine. Set aside

  4. Make the batter
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, white pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Stir to combine.

  6. Mix in eggs and water. Stir the batter until it become a smooth paste, add a little more of water if the batter is too thick.
  7. Dip cauliflower florets into the batter and coat evenly. Allow excess batter to drip off.

  8. Fry the Cauliflower
  9. Heat oil in a pan over medium high heat.

  10. Carefully place cauliflower into the pan, fry them by batches for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  11. Immediately remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve with dipping sauce!
